  • What is the whole experience like?
We meet up at the beautiful Ala Moana Beach Park. Upon your arrival, we guide you through the check-in process, preparing you for a rejuvenating breathwork session. Whether you choose to recline or sit upright, we engage in deep breathing for 18-20 minutes, oxygenating our bodies in readiness for an ice plunge. Following the breath work, we embark on a refreshing ice plunge, with a suggested duration of up to 3 minutes. While there's no pressure to adhere strictly to this timeframe, we encourage everyone to explore the full 3 minutes to reap maximum benefits. Our team assists you in safely getting in and exiting the ice bath, after which you are free to move around and warm up your body. However, we advise against immediate ocean immersion for at least 30 minutes, allowing your body to acclimate gradually.
  • Where do we meet up?
We gather on Ala Moana Beach Park on the side adjacent to the Magic Island. Click here for a google maps link.
  • How cold is it?
Water is kept around 37.4-41°F (3-5°C). Embrace the cold within sensible bounds to enjoy its benefits while ensuring safety and avoiding the risk of hypothermia.
  • What does practicing regular Ice Bath offer you?
Weight management: Ice baths trigger thermogenesis, an internal process where the body releases norepinephrine at significantly elevated levels. Coupled with the production of brown fat burning carbs to generate heat, this correlation has been consistently associated with positive outcomes in terms of weight loss and overall human metabolism in various scientific studies. Anxiety & Depression: Contrary to the popular belief that antidepressants work by increasing certain mood-enhancing chemicals, cold exposure triggers the release of a variety of chemicals in the body that can contribute to improved mental health symptoms. The neurotransmitter norepinephrine involves cognitive processes, including attention, focus, and mood. Endorphins can also be released, which contributes to feelings of well-being. Early research has found that cold therapy can reduce the experience of depressive symptoms. Immune system: Research indicates that cold exposure can stimulate the immune response and boost the body’s immune system. In one study, participants adopted a cold shower routine for 30 days. Cold showers were associated with a 29% decrease in sickness absence from work. Exposing the body to cold temperatures can activate the circulation of white blood cells, which are responsible for fighting infections and play a large role in the immune response. Circulation: Exposing the body to frigid temperatures challenges the circulatory system, directing blood flow to the core for organ protection. This cold-induced strain prompts the heart to work harder, enhancing the delivery of oxygenated blood to critical areas and ultimately improving circulatory efficiency Pain Relief: Cold therapy is gaining popularity as a pain relief strategy for exercise-related muscle soreness and chronic pain alike. The same process of reduced blood flow to the skin and surrounding muscles that reduces inflammation during cold therapy can also decrease feelings of pain in those areas. It has also been suggested that cold therapy can mitigate pain perception by interfering with pain signals sent to the nervous system, leading to lessened experiences of pain and discomfort.
  • What is our suggested ice bath duration?
Based on our experience and current research, we guide you through 3 minutes of ice bath experience. It has been deterred to be the optimal amount of time to receive the benefits without running the risk of hypothermia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFB8MCVSt1g
  • What frequency is recommended for ice bath sessions?
Dr. Susanna Soeberg, a prominent global expert on cold exposure, advocates for a weekly total of 11 minutes to maximize ice bath benefits. Her recommendation involves 2-4 sessions lasting 1-5 minutes each, as per a recent study, revealing this duration as optimal for attaining the greatest health advantages.
  • What is our cancelation policy?
Life happens and we understand that things change. To ensure fairness, cancellations are permitted up to one hour before the scheduled session, guaranteeing a full refund for such cases. However, cancellations beyond this timeframe would result in the forfeiture of the payment. In the event of inclement weather leading to the cancellation of a session, rest assured that you will receive a complete refund. Your satisfaction and fair treatment are our priorities.
  • Are there any precautions?
Individuals who are pregnant or under the age of 16 are advised to abstain from plunging. If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or any other cardiovascular condition, it is essential to consult your medical professional before engaging in plunging activities. If you are on medications that may adversely affect vascular circulation, please seek advice from your medical professional prior to taking the plunge. If you are feeling feverish or experiencing cold symptoms, it is recommended to skip the plunge until you have fully recovered. Ensure that any skin irritations or rashes are properly healed before immersing yourself in the ice. Avoid repeated plunges, as your body's core requires time to heat up. Multiple rounds of an ice bath can significantly decrease your body's temperature, leading to hypothermia. Refrain from consuming alcohol or taking any drugs before and/or during a plunge for your safety and well-being. Do not plunge alone.
